Brass compression-type fitting

Housing from stainless steel, compression cone from brass

The brass compression cone is temperature-resistant and absorbs vibrations, as well as being pressure-tight. Its usage temperature is lower than with stainless steel, however brass compression cones are frequently used since they exhibit better compression behaviour especially with small diameters of sheathing thermocouples.  After fixation of the thermocouple, a permanent connection is also established in this instance between the compression cone and the sheathing thermocouple.
